Restoring trust to our leadership, and service to our community
My name is Paul Bolin. My family has lived in the Otsego area for six generations. I am running to be your representative because conservatives no longer have a voice they can trust in St. Paul.
Since I met many of you at the Wright County Convention back in 2012, nothing has changed. I still firmly stand behind my values that I made the promise to bring you as your representative. Those values include:
-Reducing taxes across the board to encourage small business growth in our communities
-Defending the dignity of human life, from conception to natural death
-Preserving our Constitutional right to firearms
I am an active member in, and have an "A-" rating from the NRA, the highest rating possible for a non-politician
-Speaking up for our Judeo-Christian values and our right to express them.
Paul Bolin for State Representative
I have not changed! Unfortunately, Rep. David FitzSimmons has. While the two of us competed for the Republican endorsement in 2012, Rep. FitzSimmons promised that he would support maintaing the definition of marriage between a man and a woman. Four months after taking office, he chose to go back on his word, and he voted to force same-sex marriage on all Minnesotans.
Whether he had a change of heart, or whether he was looking out for his future political career, we will never know. What we do know, however, is that we cannot reward politicians who break their word.
It may be easy to be wary of political promises. But I have no desire to be a politician. I am content living right here. I renew the promise I made in 2012: I will never abuse your trust to further my career, because my career will never be politics.
I grew up in the Otsego area and attended local schools. I studied Biochemistry and Economics at the University of Minnesota, and Medicine at the University of Illinois. I presently work in medical education.
I am an active parishioner at St. Michael Catholic Church, where I am involved with various activities. I also volunteer at homeless and rehabilitation shelters through Catholic Charities.
Remember to attend the endorsement convention at Buffalo High School, Feb. 22 at 8:30 AM!
