My name is Paul Bolin. I am a sixth-generation Wright County resident, and I’ve lived in Otsego since I was 5 years old. It was in this City that I grew up and became who I am today, and now I want to give back. I am running for City Council because I want to help foster growth in our City, and make it a more attractive place to raise a family and do business.
I have four key priorities:
- Reducing property taxes across the board to encourage job growth and promote economic development in our community.
- Improving communication with school boards and charter schools that serve our City. As we do not have our own school board, it is important that Otsego has a strong voice to advocate for the needs of our parents and students.
- Ensuring proper enforcement of existing city ordinances, while repealing ordinances that are outdated, unnecessary, or burdensome on local residents.
- Improving ambulance and fire response time. Local residents have reported waiting up to 30 minutes for an ambulance. As we don’t have our own police or fire departments, we must actively keep lines of communication open with Elk River, Rogers, Albertville and Wright County to improve this problem.
